Ampext® Anise Star Essential Oil smells like a jar of licorice sweets on a spice shelf — warm, sweet and unmistakable. A single drop brings cozy, festive warmth to the diffuser on cold evenings, to holiday home-fragrance blends and to handmade soaps and candles.
Our Anise Star Essential Oil is produced by steam distillation of the star-shaped fruit of Illicium verum, capturing its unique, intense aromatic essence.
Aroma: warm and spicy with a sweet, licorice-like character — rich, round and very strong, so start with one drop.
How to Enjoy Anise Star Essential Oil:
- Diffuser: Add 2–3 drops for a warm, sweet-spicy atmosphere — lovely in fall and winter, or paired with sweet orange for a festive home scent.
- Massage: Dilute with a carrier oil so that the essential oil does not exceed 2% of the total volume — for instance, 1 ml of essential oil in 50–100 ml of carrier oil such as jojoba, sweet almond, avocado, olive, coconut or grapeseed oil. Enjoy a warm, fragrant massage that leaves skin soft and smooth. Never apply undiluted.
- Bath: Mix a few drops into a spoonful of carrier oil, then add to warm bathwater for a cozy, fragrant soak.
- Aroma on the go: Put a drop on a handkerchief and enjoy the scent through the day. Be careful — the aroma is very strong!
- DIY home fragrance: A drop or two adds a sweet spice note to homemade candles, soaps and potpourri.
Blends well with: sweet orange, cinnamon, clove, ginger, black pepper, fennel and lavender.
