Ampext® Basil Essential Oil brings the scent of a sun-warmed herb garden indoors — sweet, green and gently floral with a crisp, clean edge. Diffuse it on busy mornings and work-from-home days, or add it to massage blends, natural perfumes and fresh-scented cleaning mixes.
Our Basil Essential Oil is produced by steam distillation of the leaves of Ocimum basilicum. Its natural linalool gives it a soft, floral sweetness, while a touch of camphor adds a crisp, clean freshness.
Aroma: warm, freshly floral and crisply herbaceous — green, bright and revitalizing.
Basil also has a rich cultural history. In Hindu culture it is a symbol of love, eternal life, purification and protection, and folklore has long carried it as a good-luck charm said to attract wealth.
How to Enjoy Basil Essential Oil:
- Diffuser: Add a few drops for a fresh, invigorating, garden-green atmosphere.
- Massage: Dilute with a carrier oil so that the essential oil does not exceed 3% of the total volume — for instance, 1 ml of essential oil in 30 ml of carrier oil such as jojoba, sweet almond, avocado, olive, coconut or grapeseed oil. Massage in at the end of a long day for a refreshing, herb-scented ritual that leaves skin soft and smooth.
- Body oil: The same dilution makes a fresh, cleansing body oil — skin looks smooth and feels refreshed.
- Bath: Mix a few drops into a spoonful of carrier oil, then add to warm bathwater for a fragrant, herbal soak.
- Home cleaning scent: Add to natural household cleaners for a fresh, green scent throughout the house.
- Aroma on the go: Put a drop on a handkerchief for a burst of fresh herbal scent. Be careful — the aroma is very strong!
Blends well with: lemon, bergamot, lavender, rosemary, peppermint, geranium and clary sage.
